WILL GOD KILL YOU?

1Co 11:30 For this cause a number of you are feeble and ill, and a number are dead. (BBE)

Most of the people I know would never believe God would kill them, because He's too loving and kind.  They think of God as some grandfather that will let you get away with anything.  They don't consider He's still the same God  of the Old Testament as well as the New Testament.  They think some how God has mellowed out.  Not realizing the same God  that destroyed  the sons of Aaron is the same God that gave His only Son for our sins.  They fail to accept what God says when He says "I do not change."

I can understand why people have such false ideas about God, because there are so many false teachers out there that do not declare what the Bible  says about God, rather they tell their congregations what they want to hear.  But the fact remains The Apostle Paul said "Some of you are dead, because you have disrespected the sacrifice of Jesus."

Several years ago I was called to a church that had lost its Pastor to a mysterious disease that I was told was  never identified.  After a season of prayer it was brought to my attention the Pastor had knowingly allowed a homosexual to teach a Sunday School class, and to take leadership roles in the church, soley because he gave money to the church.  This brought me to the conclusion, God had killed the man for his actions.  Just like Paul explained to the church in Corinth, that God had killed some of them because of their dishonor to the sacrifice of Christ, I explained to the church why their Pastor had died.

God is still the same today as He was in the day He killed Ananias and Sapphira, or those He killed in the church at Corinth.  God does not want to see any die and go to Hell but the fact is most will, because they do not treat God and the things of God as Holy.  They try to approach God as so many of the High Priests did in the days of the Temple and God killed them because they did not honor God by coming as He said.

Which brings me to the thought that has been on my mind.  Did God kill the Pope?  As a student of church history I have seen the Catholic church create many false teachings through the centuries, but I never saw them cross the line as Pope Francis did when he declared Jesus was not the only way to God.  That was a blasphemy I had never seen the Catholic church ever perform before.  And it wasn't long after Pope Francis became sick and is now dead.  Granted many through out the ages have made similar blasphemous statements, but to be considered one of the worlds primary spiritual leaders in christianity and to say such as that, and now he's dead, it makes sense to me.  But I wonder how many will consider God's warning?
